Healed and Delivered
There were many children with epileptic conditions at the Center. I felt to pray for each one, even if we saw nothing, to lay hands on them and pray anyway, because the Bible tells us to.
I remember telling Melanie that for the first time ever, I didn’t feel I had to see the results immediately. I have never experienced that before. I’ve always felt that I needed to see healing or deliverance for others immediately, otherwise God didn’t do it. Maybe that’s just me?
Anyway, this time was different, and that shift in my spirit has remained, it’s as though God re-calibrated something inside. I felt led to pray and believe it would be done even if we were gone, and so we did.
Last week, Helen sent me a message about a young boy we prayed for named Honest.
“And Honest the boy you prayed for the one who was having a lot of seizures, since the day you prayed for him up to now he has never experienced any seizure his father came to thank the centre yesterday.”
I could hardly believe it, and yet, I wasn’t surprised at all!
We thanked God for Honest, however, the one I had thought of the most since leaving was a girl named Rohda. When we met her, she refused eye contact and often cast her gaze to the floor. This behavior wasn’t just because we were strangers, she did this with others at the center as well. I felt impressed to pray for deliverance for her and asked Helen if it would be ok. Helen and Rohda agreed. Nothing happened that I could see at that time.
But…
The next day Rohda’s countenance was different. She carried herself differently. She readily made eye contact. She didn’t drop her gaze or head. She sang with the others. I told friend that I believed she was delivered.
Recently I asked Helen about Rohda.
“Called the mother, she has also confirmed that, it is a long time since she experienced any seizures, before the prayers she used to have seizures almost every night, but she (was) confused that she has never used the first aid kits since the day you gave (it) to her. From the time you prayed for Rohda up to now she has never experienced any seizures. She has sent her thanks and greetings to you.”
Bottom line: God is STILL in the business of healing and delivering. He simply asks us to believe.
There are multiple conditions we see listed in the Bible that we call “sickness” or “mental illness,” in the West, that Jesus treated through the casting out of demons.
That said—Not every ailment, oppression, or thought is a demon either.
Thankfully, Jesus is still in the business of casting out demons and healing people. He still sets people free. We saw it with these two and I've seen and experienced it before.
In Mark 16:16-18 Jesus said “16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
I thank God for the good report, and am sharing because maybe you (the reader) need to know that there’s hope…
If you have something that has continued to overcome you despite your best efforts—be it physical or mental—if you feel tormented or enslaved—you’re not alone. It’s not a personal weakness, thing to be ashamed of, or lack of faith to need deliverance. I’ve personally been delivered multiple times. It’s a night and day difference when it happens.
If this speaks to you, don’t be ashamed. Find a place for personal ministry, and if you can’t, reach out to me. The Lord is willing to meet your need in America just like He is in Zambia. He only needs you to position yourself and ask.
He is willing. Why stay oppressed?
